Africa como Tema

É muito interessante de pensar sobre África e o que as pessoas pensam a respeito dela. Bem no começo do ensaio dele, Gerald M. Moser disse que os escritores portugueses recordaram as primeiras impressões feito pela África e seu povo. Ele disse que “their pioneering efforts in many ways fixed the lines of thought for later generations, giving Africa its twofold reputation as a continent of secret promise and as the abode of primitive barbarity, a reputation that has clung to it ever since.” Isso é pura verdade.
